Uncle Johnny's Good Cars, serving Houston since 1957!

Originally named Uncle John's Used Cars, Houston icon and owner John Maxwell opened the auto dealership in 1957. After 32 years of serving Houston selling quality cars and trucks, John Maxwell passed the business to his longtime employee Jose L. Reyes.
In 1989, the dealership was renamed Uncle Johnny's Good Cars and is still operating at it's near downtown area location. Our goal is to continue the legacy of our founder, a man and a name known in Houston for his integrity, fairness and compassion.

JOSE L. REYES BIO & CREDENTIALS

Jose Reyes was born in Monterrey, Mexico, and migrated to the United States in 1971 at the age of 20. His automotive career began as a porter for Houston auto dealer John Maxwell (Uncle John). Reyes worked for Maxwell for nearly 20 years, gradually climbing the ladder from cleaning cars to managing the entire organization.

In 1989, Jose organized and founded Uncle Johnny's Good Cars, the company that exists today. John Maxwell thanks God for the day Jose started working at his dealership. "Mr. Reyes has taken my company , a firm almost 50 years old and made me proud of what I see today. I have always said 'honesty' was the best and only policy and Joe has proved it! Today I am one of his employees. Only in America!"

Recently, Jose Reyes earned his distinction as a Graduate of the Certified Master Dealer program. the program, developed by NIADA (National Independent Automobile Dealers Association) and Northwood University, is an intense training session that very few dealers pass. the certification denotes quality and integrity of the highest degree. Reyes' accomplishment allows him to return to his dealership, Uncle Johnny's Good Cars in Houston, Texas, and implement certain policies and procedures that assure the buying public of his superior service and solid merchandise. Along the journey, Reyes gained the respect of his constituents and was named the Houston IADA Quality Dealer of the Year in 2003-an achievement that he can add to his growing list of distinguished awards.
